Lesson 1: Introduction
In this free training video about Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) Layer 3 External Connectivity, Venkata Naveen Chapa begins by describing what a Layer 3 Out is. Using a Layer 3 Out, ACI can extend its connectivity to the external devices. Venkata then provides a brief introduction, starting with an explanation of a border leaf, or a leaf through which traffic from the ACI fabric exits. Border leaves use OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, or static protocols to exchange external prefixes.
Venkata then moves into the topology that he will demonstrate in the next two lessons. In his topology, Venkata has three leaves set up, and connects them using EIGRP to Nexus Routers N5596-A and N5596-B. He then moves to the pre-requisites, or access policies for this demonstration, including VPC, interface profiles, AEP, VLAN pool, endpoint in ACI, and a route reflector.
