T-Shoot: VIRL OVA Import Fails

     

    Summary

    After downloading the VIRL OVA and attempting to deploy, the deployment fails with errors similar to these:

    • unable to resolve [hostname]
    • vmdk locked
    • unknown error

    The failed deployment may have a dump similar to this during the creation of the vmdk file.

    Typically these errors are caused by a failed or corrupt download. To verify that your OVA is complete and has not been corrupted,  you need to verify its checksum. We provide the MD5 hash and SHA512 checksums to ensure your OVA file is numerically identical to the original published VIRL OVA.
