The new CCIE Service Provider certification program prepares you for today’s expert-level job roles in service provider technologies. CCIE Service Provider now includes automation and programmability to help you scale your service provider infrastructure.
One of the industry's most respected certifications, CCIE distinguishes you as a technical leader.
To earn CCIE Service Provider, you pass two exams: a qualifying exam and hands-on lab exam.
First, take the qualifying exam, Implementing and Operating Cisco Service Provider Network Core Technologies (SPCOR 300-501), which focuses on your knowledge of service provider infrastructure.
You can prepare for this exam by taking the training course, Implementing and Operating Cisco Service Provider Network Core Technologies (SPCOR).
The qualifying exam earns a Specialist certification, so you can get recognized for your accomplishments along the way.
Second, take the 8-hour, hands-on lab exam, CCIE Service Provider v5.0. This exam covers the end-to-end lifecycle of complex service provider networks, from designing through deploying, operating and optimizing.
On February 24, 2020, the new CCIE Service Provider certification v5.0 will replace the current CCIE Service Provider v4.1.
If you have started working toward the current CCIE Service Provider certification, keep going. In the new program, you’ll receive credit for work you’ve completed in the current certification.
If you pass the CCIE Service Provider v4.1 written exam before February 24, you will be eligible to take the new CCIE Service Provider v5.0 lab exam after February 24.
After February 24, the CCIE Service Provider Written will be replaced with SPCOR 300-501. After you pass SPCOR 300-501, you will earn the Cisco Certified Specialist - Service Provider Core certification.
If you complete the entire CCIE Service Provider certification before February 24, then as of February 24, you’ll maintain your CCIE Service Provider certification as per the new recertification guidelines, and you will also receive the Cisco Certified Specialist - Service Provider Core certification.
There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE Service Provider, but you should have a thorough understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.
CCIE candidates are recommended to have five to seven years of experience with designing, deploying, operating and optimizing service provider technologies and solutions prior to taking the exam.
CCIE Service Provider certification is valid for three years. For more information about recertifying, visit the Recertification page.
