The new CCIE Enterprise Wireless certification program prepares you for today’s expert-level job roles in enterprise wireless technologies. CCIE Enterprise Wireless includes automation and programmability to help you scale your enterprise wireless infrastructure.
One of the industry’s most respected certifications, CCIE distinguishes you as a technical leader.
To earn CCIE Enterprise Wireless, you pass two exams: a qualifying exam and hands-on lab exam.
First, take the qualifying exam, Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies (ENCOR 300-401), which focuses on your knowledge of enterprise networking technologies.
You can prepare for this exam by taking the training course, Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies (ENCOR).
The qualifying exam earns a Specialist certification, so you can get recognized for your accomplishments along the way.
Second, take the 8-hour, hands-on lab exam, CCIE Enterprise Wireless v1.0. This exam covers the end-to-end lifecycle of complex enterprise wireless networks, from designing through deploying, operating, and optimizing.
On February 24, 2020, the new CCIE Enterprise Wireless v1.0 certification will replace the current CCIE Wireless v3.1.
If you have started working toward the current CCIE Wireless v3.1 certification, keep going. In the new program, you’ll receive credit for work you’ve completed in the current certification.
If you pass the current CCIE Wireless written exam before February 24, you will be eligible to take the new CCIE Enterprise Wireless v1.0 lab after February 24.
After February 24, the CCIE Wireless Written v3.1 will be replaced with ENCOR 300-401. After you pass ENCOR 300-401, you will earn the Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Core certification.
If you complete the entire CCIE Wireless certification before February 24, then as of February 24, you’ll automatically receive the new CCIE Enterprise Wireless v1.0 certification, which you can maintain as per the new recertification guidelines, as well as the Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Core certification.
There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE Enterprise Wireless, but you should have a thorough understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.
CCIE candidates are recommended to have five to seven years of experience with designing, deploying, operating and optimizing enterprise wireless technologies and solutions prior to taking the exam.
CCIE Enterprise Wireless certification is valid for three years. For more information about recertifying, visit the Recertification page.
