Hi,NTP set on router toInternal, or a connectionto the Internet.
Do you have the CCNA VOICE LAB MANUAL? If so, you will find practical help in Appendix C, C-1 Lab: Build Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
Here is one of the requirements: "Network Time Protocol [NTP] must be accessible or simulated on the router for the build to complete."
First of all, you have to configure NTP on your router as Internal, or with a NTP server on Internet if your router have a connection
to the Internet. -- Lab 3-2.
Please configure any router with internet access and connect that router to CUCM network. Configure that router as NTP master.
Configuration as follows...
Go to http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Servers/StratumOneTimeServers and pickup a Time Server. (example ntp.alaska.edu or 220.127.116.11)
Go to timeanddate.com and select time time zone
Router(config)#ntp server 18.104.22.168
Router(config)#clock timezone DENVER -6
Go back to CUCM and give your router IP address as NTP Server while installation.
Router#show ntp assosiations
Alternatively if your CUCM has internet access you can give the public NTP server address (ntp.alaska.edu or 22.214.171.124) directly.
It is quite old post but it may help someone. if you are creating a lab environment and you don't have internet access how would you configure your router as ntp server so CUCM can locally access it and you continue with installation. Assuming router is trunked to a switch and vmware host is connected to switch. Router is configured as DHCP server and vmware host including all clients got IPs from router Please do the following
1. Router (example)
int g0/0.10 ip address = 192.168.10.1(replace with your own IP)
int g0/0.20 ip address = 192.168.20.1(replace with your own IP)
clock timezone <name> utc offset value according to your zone
ntp master <Stratum Number 1-15> use 1
This should work and let you complete installation.
