Im not cct, but I researched it heavily when they brought it out...bottom line, the training for the exam is very expensive, and since I am not not a field tech I decided it had no real benefit, especially since I already covered a lot of that ground with the ccent (and it does).
non field techs dont really need this cert.
I have my CCT (R&S) and I'm studying for my CCENT now. Its like a big piece of a puzzle and now things make more scene. After I get my CCENT I'm getting my CCT data and Telepresence. I don't have an IT background, I'm so happy now I have my CCT and I recommend it to the people who dose not have an IT background.
Thanks J.Darr and J.P.O Kev.
Tracy, congrats on your achievements. Your path is aligned with my thought process and plan regarding my Cisco cert trajectory. The CCT seems like a good practice run and prep prior to getting the CCENT and CCNA. While it's intended for other audiences primarily,yo can earn a certification credential relatively quickly with the CCT so at least you have something to document while you seek the more advanced certs.
I'm studying for my CCNA and took Cisco Academy courses for the exam, I might just see if I can knock the CCT out quickly even though it's an added cost,
Good luck on your upcoming exams!
