I'm setting the over/under on February CCDEs at 4.5.. Anyone care to take a side? IIRC, there were 27 candidates across the two sites (13 in London, 14 in Chicago). Guesses are great, and official answers are welcome as well
totally going over.....lets say.....6!
Now, do you mean 4.5 TOTAL? (as in 1.5 from this go-around) or 4.5 specifically from this go-around?
My answer will change depending on which.
I would guess three passing from this go-around as there are some repeat customers from the first debacle.... er.... test.
I am going with 8 percent of 27. So 2 candidates pass this time around.
Now that's pessimistic! I was thinking 4 or 5, so I set the bar at 4.5. I'm going to take the over, for the purely self-serving reason that the more that pass, the better chance I was one of them. I am also considering that several people had already seen the exam in the alpha and beta offering, and others may have gotten a better sense of what to expect from the various comments from those early participants.
As a tangent, what would be a good result for the CCDE program, and/or the three current CCDEs? My take is that at this point, the more the merrier, provided those that pass are truly qualified. If the test gets a reputation for being impossible, many potential candidates will refuse to subject themselves to it. This is especially true for those with reputations to uphold, and those are the very people that would give the program name recognition.
Scott, I meant 4.5 new CCDEs as a result of the February test. I'm certainly hoping for more than 1 new CCDE
Quite many people seemed to be confident after the exam. This means nothing of course but a good sign.
The passing rate was about 20% at the first attempt. The second try will probably has the same rate. So my bet is 6-7 new CCDEs
Only 7% passed last time (3/41). If I were a betting man I would definitely take the under. I would be happy to see more CCDEs though as it would give me hope for August. Good luck!!!
20% would have been nice. More people (maybe me too?) would have been happier.
I think it was 6 or 7% (3 out of 42 as I recall)
Not good odds for a betting guy!
You are absolutely right! There were more people at the exam last year. Thus the passing rate is lower. 20% sounds optimistic but unrealistic. Nonetheless keep finger crossed
I think we won't see more thn 2 new CCDE's in this round.
Whether over or under... the question is "when are we going to get our results??" we're in the 9th week since the exam and still no news...
What if... Cisco come back saying the cert is canned as it's too hard to mark so here's a $1,400 Cisco voucher!!!
Will it be over or under??.... I say it'll be well and truly over!!!!
Oh boy, am I glad not to be part of the group this time around :-). This sounds all too familiar and it would seem that 2nd beta group is in the same mess as the 1st one was. If there's some comfort...
At around week 11, they (Cisco or VUE) will mail you the results by snail-mail in a hand-addressed envelope. Look for "200902xxx" on the first page to see if you passed. If you spot percentage breakdown, get Visa/Master/poison of choice ready, as the result is not good...
So they don't send an Email as well?? what if that one envelope goes missing??
Welcome to the human network...
You can see my "ordeal" with Cisco cert support about that in one of the other threads.
