192.168.12.0/24 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks

C       192.168.12.0/25 is directly connected, Serial0/1

C       192.168.12.1/32 is directly connected, Serial0/1

Hi All,

 

I was just making some labs while studying for Route.

Now mine question is why enabling ppp on a interface it also shows the routers ip add of the neighbor in the

routing table as directly connected while hdlc does this not.

 

Can any1 clarify this please...

 

With HDLC

 

192.168.12.0/25 is subnetted, 1 subnets

C       192.168.12.0 is directly connected, Serial0/1

With PPP

 

192.168.12.0/24 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks

C       192.168.12.0/25 is directly connected, Serial0/1

C       192.168.12.2/32 is directly connected, Serial0/1

 

192.168.12.0/24 is variably subnetted, 2 subnets, 2 masks

C       192.168.12.0/25 is directly connected, Serial0/1

C       192.168.12.1/32 is directly connected, Serial0/1
