Hi Friends,

I have small query on configuring wildcard mark min acl.Exampls i want to use single line acl for 1.225.10.0.0 - 225.10.255.255 2.225.26.0.0 - 255.26.255.255 3.225.42.0.0 - 255.42.255.255 4.225.58.0.0 - 255.58.255.255

First,third and forth octet is same so we can ignore.

Sol1:

10 = 00001010

26 = 00011010

42 = 00101010

58 = 00111010

so acl is access-list 1 permit 225.10.0.0 0.31.255.255

Sol2:

10 = 00001010

26 = 00011010

42 = 00101010

58 = 00111010

Wildcard = 00110000

access-list 1 permit 225.10.0.0 0.48.255.255

whihc one is best sol.

bala,

Solution #2 is the best one as it only allows the four numbers 10, 26, 42, 58 in the second octet.  Where as the first solution includes the numbers 0 - 31 in the second octet.  So you actually miss 42 and 58.
