I'm created a frame relay network, what do I need to do to make it into a hub and spoke network? I was thinking of making London the hub. Would I just remove DLCI 203 from New Youk and 302 from Tokyo?
Hey Gonzo, here is a quick little flash movie that demonstrates the configs you need to get up an running in no time...
The DLCI mapping between newyork and tokyo are used to reach eachother,if it is a hub-to-spoke topology then both reach via LONDON or else if u configure one dedicated link bettween them in frame relay cloud ,so if u have dedicated framerelay line between them configured in framrelay ,remove it then this will become hub-to-spoke topology,
I'm uploaded my hub and spoke lab, does it look ok to you, I didn't chnage anything in the frame relay cloud though just onthe routers?
Attachment is inthe first post (up the top).
HI Guys, So fresh and new on this forum, Anyway you're right right for Hub and spoke you can remove 203/302 dlci otherwise this topology would likely be a point to point connectivity as of full mesh. As Kumar mentioned is right spoke connectivity would go directly to london as a pass - through to other spoke
It is OK if you have other PVCs; just do not use them on purpose of accidentally if you want to hub-spoke;
often you get multiple DLCIs from ISP, choose right one for your goal;
in fact, all rental-gear sites have full mesh so u can choose topology to use; full-, partial-mesh or hub-spoke, or hybrid;
often, assigning unused DLCIs to unused sub-interface is good pracitce in real life and on CCIE lab.
