    Re: The Future of CCIP

    Hi

I really like ccip because iam working on enterprise network not on service provide so for me the CCIP track is very usefull especiall BGP & QOS i already completed BGP+MPLS going to take QOS in few days , recently  i heard ccip retired so iam confused

I never seen 642-642 is a part of any certification so why it is not on eol since ccip will be retired soon

    Re: The Future of CCIP

    Simple question:

    BSCI/Route + BG+MPLS + SPEDGE + SPCORE = CCNP SP

or I will need also QOS?

becuase i think it is more practical to migrate instead of certifying CCIP that will retire soon.

Please I need an accurate answer ASAP.

    Thank you.

    Hi

I already know this tool but it is not clear CCIP migration and non-CCIP migration

    my question is

BSCI/Route + BG+MPLS + SPEDGE + SPCORE  = CCNP SP? without QOS or CCNA SP

    Re: The Future of CCIP

Since a new prerequisite (CCNA + any CCIP exam) has been added recently, you don't need QOS nor CCNA SP as long as your CCNA is valid and all listed exams were passed less than 3 years ago.

    Re: The Future of CCIP

    Hi Mustafa,

As Sey stated above, one of the pre-requisite options for CCNP Service Provider is having a valid CCNA Certification + passed minimum of 1 CCIP exam (QOS, BGP, MPLS, BGP+MPLS, ROUTE). If you fulfill this pre-requisite requirement for CCNP Service Provider, you will not need a valid CCNA Service Provider Certification.

The BSCI/ROUTE + BGP+MPLS(642-691) + SPEDGE + SPCORE is a valid exam path for CCNP Service Provider. However, as mentioned, you must also have a valid pre-requisite to become certified in CCNP Service Provider. To see the available CCNP Service Provider pre-requisite options, click here.

Please note that Professional level exams are valid for 3 years from the date they are passed. Candidates have 3 years to complete all of the exam requirements for any Professional level certifcation. The 3 years starts as soon as a candidate passes the first exam required for that particular certification.

    Re: The Future of CCIP

thanks alot Rigo for your care but i need your advice in my situation:

I am BSCI certified at (31-07-2010) the day of BSCI retirement and i have just passed the BGP+MPLS exam and it didn't recerify neither my BSCI nor my CCNA (which will expire at 2013), is CCIP certification would recertify them? as i have no time for SWITCH or TSHOOT.

in the End give me your advice which exams i should take to save the Day

    Thanks

This is normal. Exams do not recertify exams. You can recertify a complete certification only.

nor my CCNA (which will expire at 2013)

This is not normal. You may want to double check that in the certification tracking system, and if this is still true, open a case with CertSupport.

    CCIP certification would recertify them?

Not the CCIP itself but any 642 exam passed towards CCIP should recertify any Professional and Associate level certifications for 3 years since the day of passing the exam.

in the End give me your advice which exams i should take to save the Day

For CCIP, take and pass QoS before Oct 29, 2012.

For CCNP SP, take and pass SPEDGE and SPCORE before Jul 31, 2013.

For both certifications, take and pass all 3 exams.

    Re: The Future of CCIP

    Sey, really thank you

everything is clear now but in your opinion, why do i need CCIP? while my current certifications enable me to get CCNP SP.

the only use of CCIP now is giving me a chance to migrate to CCNP SP within 3 years after getting CCIP right?

Thanks Sey for your care and information.

It's really up to you. You may want to have both CCIP and CCNP SP. You may also want to learn QoS just for yourself and check your knowledge on the exam.

    Yes, and that, too.

    Re: The Future of CCIP

    Hi Sey,

Hope you are fine, can i use CCNA(R&S) and BGP+MPLS as a prerequisite for CCNP SP when my BSCI is expired? accroding to this:

Valid CCNA (R&S) plus have passed minimum of 1 CCIP exam (QOS, BGP, MPLS, BGP+MPLS, ROUTE, BSCI)

    Re: The Future of CCIP

Yes you can. You don't need to pass CCNA SP exams but only 3 CCNP SP exams for BGP+MPLS will also count towards SPADVROUTE.

    Re: The Future of CCIP

you mean that I can but according to what certificates I have, the migration will be different which is as you said I'll need -beside SPCORE and SPEDGE- SPROUTE.

Do you think the time to 31 Jul 2013 is enough for taking: SWITCH, TSHOOT, SPCORE AND SPEDGE?

I am ready for SWITCH within a month

Sorry but I did not get what you said.

Four exams within a year? Why not.
