I think those should be good starting points. Make sure to setup your connection to the virtual environment through cloud with a loopback adapter or vmswitch so that you can practice with the CLI and the SDM. Also, make sure to review the topics. If you are taking the exam after October 1st they changed the test to include some ASA stuff and using CCP instead of SDM, which is great in my opinion. All the best to you!
Thanks for your quick reply i really appreciate your opinion, i will practice with CCP and ASA. the date scheduled is prepare me for December of this year.
Thanks & Regards,
keep in mind while the test is changing much of the better material including the currently available Cisco Press book is for the current exam. http://www.amazon.com/Implementing-Cisco-Network-Security-IINS/dp/1587058154/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1334260334&sr=1-2
The new book which will focus on the 2.0 of the test will not be out as far as Amazon.com claims until Mid July.
Those images look OK. I checked with the images that the Cisco Networking Academy provides. These are the following:
For 1841: c1841-advipservicesk9-mz.124-22.T2.bin
For 1941: c1900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-2.T2.bin
Your images are also the Advanced IP Services and the version match mostly. Older devices, like the 2611XM, need the following image: c2600-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T10.bin. And there is a note saying the following commands don't work in this version:
- secure boot-image
- secure boot-config
- show secure bootset
- ntp update-calendar
- Cisco IOS IPS is not supported
- Will probably need to free up space on flash using the command squeeze flash:
I suspect you will run into similar issues but these are only minor setbacks. Looks like you got yourself a nice lab!
