when the output que size full , provided wred configured only on class-default will it impact voip traffic on the other classes

Iam asking this because recently we have a issue like this (dropping voip calls) so when we disable the wred on the class-default and increase the que siz under this class then the issue seems to be normalised

I wonder how come the udp traffic get impacted due to wred configured on the clas-default

Our Config like this

int fa1/0

service policy ouput shaping

class-map qos-xxx

policy-map shaping

class-map class-default

shaping xxxkbps

servicy-policy qos-yyy

policy-map qos-yyy

class-map voip

priority 20%

class-map routing

bandwidth 20%

class-map default

troubleshooting done was

class-map default

no random-detect

queue size (increased)

    Re: Wred on class default

wred is dropping packets based on dscp or ip precedence of packet. If every packet have the same (probably 0) dscp value, than all packets will be threated the same. Make sure that voip traffic is properly marked/threaten.
