Thank you DelVonte for the point!
I have added ip add 192.168.1.1/24 to my interface vlan 1 (or may should be done under BVI1 --- have no wireless knowledge), and also changed the command ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 FastEthernet4 to ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 dhcp. (dhcp being the address given to me by the ISP). I see right now I can do a ping 18.104.22.168 from the router itself, so I have connection to the Internet. But I get no internal addresses wireless or LAN, is there anything wrong with my dhcp pool/router config?
Hmmm...I'm not familiar with this model of router so I'm not exactly sure. Here is a description of a working config (according to the author): https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/334927
It looks like I was wrong. So you need to place the IP address on the BVI, not on the vlan interface. So lets try that first.
Thanks DelVonte for your help.
It does work now following the other link.
Now I can focus on my CCNAs exam !!!
The 800w series can be confusing with the BVI (bridge virtual interface) if you want WiFi you will need to give the BVI the management IP(192.168.1.1) and put Vlan 1 in Bridge group 1( which you already have in the earlier config)
in the link DelVonte provided the has a good example config which includes WiFi. I can't remember correctly but since you have the 870w(I had an 850w) you may get some good features for practice like multiple vlans. Have fun!
