I am taking my first lab attempt at RTP on the 15th. I have not been the most active member of this board but have followed the discussions extensively during my last year and a half of prep. I just wanted to say how thankful I am that this community is so active and that the users are so willing to help eachother. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Wish me luck!
PiperFlyer, this is CessnaFlyer...
I am sure this first attempt is going to go quite well. It is like flying your Piper. Have the correct technical knowledge in place, use the appropriate procedures and strategies, have the right mindset, and make sure you are physically well.
Should you have any last week questions on any of these points as they apply to the CCIE exam, we are standing by!
If I had any words of wisdom, it would be to get a good nights sleep. RTP is EST and they ask you to be there quite early. If it were me, I'd try to shift my sleeping habits 2-3 days prior to taking the exam. It is really hard to sleep the night before. The other thing is to never underestimate the exam (even after you see it). My first attempt, I was sure I'd pass at lunch. Needless to say (since I said attempt), it took me a second time. I simply ran out of steam. Too little sleep, and too heavy of lunch. Another hour and I think I would have had a good shot on attempt number 1.
Cessna Flyer..Piper flyer. R0ger, appreciate the advice! I have made running a priority in my schedule the last few months just to get my mind right for the exam. I would recomend it to anyone that has the LAB coming up as it has definitly made difference for me in my studies.
Good call on the hours Paul, I am definitly not a morning person and am in central time now. Will start adjusting on Saturday. Test is at 7:00am
