CCVP recertification query

My CCVP will expire soon, will passing one of the Cisco Specialist 642 exams recertify this?

I am taking the 642-583 (SSSE) Security Solutions for Systems Engineers soon, this would be an added bonus if it does.

Any "superior" certification will renew the lower/equal level certifications.

    Hi Norm trees,

To recertify your CCNP Voice certification (formerly known as CCVP) you must pass a current professional level 642-XXX exam before your certification expires.

Unfortunately, passing the 642-583 SSSE exam will not satisfy the requirement to recertify a valid CCNP Voice certification because it is not a 642-XXX professional level exam.

Any 642 prefix exam under a professional level certification track such as CCDP, CCIP, CCNP Wireless, etc. is considered a professional level exam. Please note that not all 642 prefix exams are professional level because they may not be part of the professional level curriculum, such as the 642-583 SSSE exam.

For more details about the available recertification options, please visit http://www.cisco.com/go/recertification

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
