CCIE Lab @ Cisco Live

May 27, 2011 1:42 PM

Hi Guys,

Based on your experience,

Is it possible to take the CCIE (R&S) Lab exam at the Cisco Live events ?

There will be Cisco Live in London next year, I plan to do the Lab exam there.

Any information...?

I certainly do not recall the labs ever being administered at these events. Years ago they started featuring written exams there.

I am sure Scott Morris will pop up on this thread. He has gone to more of them than anyone I know...

From Cisco's advertisements for Cisco Live:

Nice! Let's hope it works so they continue this new tradition.

Yup, definitely a new beginning.   They've been talking about doing it for a while, but finally have everything in place!   I think it will be great!  My guess is that depending on the results (how well it went, not how well candidates did!) that will determine whether it will make sense to do at other locations where Cisco Live is at.

So hopefully it will make it to London for you next year!

    Scott

Interesting - I did not see that advertisement.  I did sign up for a techtorial and paid with CLCs but I expect that we are talking about two separate items.

Example: This is an 8-hour "CCIE Lab" offered on Sunday (and Saturday - have to verify):

Title:   CCIE Routing and Switching Lab

    Length:   8 Hour
    Technical Level:   Advanced
Abstract:   This hands-on session presents lab scenarios on technologies which many candidates miss in the CCIE Routing and Switching Lab Exam. The topology and equipment used is similar to the actual exam. The session is designed for candidates with an advanced level of knowledge, who are currently studying for their lab exam. CCIE program engineers are available to provide assistance during the session.
    Speaker:   Bruce Pinsky Distinguished Engineer
    Cisco
Bruno van de Werve Product Manager
    Cisco

    Track  Certifications
    Session Group:  Certifications (CRT)
    Technology Area  Routing & Switching
    Market Vertical
    Program  Networkers

These are the labs I paid for at Cisco Live:

    CLUS11-16153  Lab: Instructor-Led (4-hour duration) Learning Credits Cleared  1 6 LC
    CLUS11-16153  Lab: Instructor-Led (8 hour duration) Learning Credits Cleared  1 10 LC

It'll be interesting to see the actual lab offered at Cisco Live - versus these mock labs - which are basically advertisements unto themselves.
