This document is part of the “practice lab” series covering core concepts and configuration/troubleshooting tips and techniques for candidates preparing for the new SP v3.0 Lab exam. The content covered in this document is drafted to give readers a comprehensive hands-on overview of the new lab exam content.
I hope this sample lab is useful during your preparation, and will help you succeed in achieving the new CCIE SP certification.
All the best!
Thank you so much for supporting the Cisco Learning Community.
I look forward to a more active discussion within this study group!
very kind of you to present this information. Thank you very much.
Yes, the sample lab is going to be very useful, but after looking through it there is an obvious question about the hardware:
Where are the ME3400E Series Switches and 7600 Series Equivalent Routers?. These two are part of the hardware specifications for CCIE SPv3 (https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/docs/DOC-10121). I mean, what kind of IOS hardware we should use to prepare the exam?. Is is enough to use 7200 and 3560G hardware for the IOS part or we must be prepared for some specific 7600 and ME3400E features?.
Thank you Vincent!!
It seems that the only thing that 99% of candidates needs now is to have this lab on Cisco Learning Labs with IOS XR Support!!
Any comment on that possibility?
Well done, and great to see that the v3.0 is formulating. This will be a good starting point to focus on the first stages.
Its really gr8t docs for V3, but still hard to find how do we practice..since no vendor available...
If someone comes with practice labs along with Rack would be gr8t..!
thanks for being considerate & making an effort to help. having said that, i think it is high time that cisco gave a serious thought about giving the candidates a fair & equal opportunity to get adequate hands on experience, on propper hardware as new concepts are being introduced in their test programs. one such would be providing online racks for an affordable price, atleast with those " beyond the reach wonder boxes to the ordinary " such as xr12k's & 7600's, else the whole saga of this spv3 would be unfair & unrealistic to the mejority until, ( don't know when ) one of those " so concerned about our success " exam content provider comes up with the magic words " hayyy we got spv3 covered for you ( with your $$$ ) ".
Regards, Asoka Perera.
please refer to https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/docs/DOC-10121 that IOS hardware 7200/7600 or equivalent, not just 7600 platform. This practice lab sample does not have ME3400 and 7600 platform specific feature. So use 7200 and 3560G will qucikly practise on this sample.
Thanks Vincent for sharing all the sample labs. You provided your last lab in May'2011 so do you any feedback that to what extent, did these prove to be benefitials to CCIE-SP candidates?
Can anyone else in this thread also give his/her feedback?
I am planning to take the v3 before it expires.
Do you have an updated version of this sample lab?
or no changes at all since you 2008 post?
