Does anyone have know about the date of the release of the CCNP Security SECURE hard copy book?
On Cisco Press, it's announced "Coming Frebruary 2011", but i can't find any informations about the real date of the coming out...
Thanks for your answers,
Ok, but on Cisco Press, there are those informations:
If you search on google there will be entries for safari pearson ciscopress just drill into the database and it will have best date information. Remember Cisco prefer training partners to charge 5000 USD rather than 200 USD on a set of books so they have no motivation to rush out the books.
IPS is August and VPN is July.
Believe it when you see it.
I am one of the authors on the IPS book, and we are in the final stages right now. October is a possibility, at least on that one.
The release dates keep changing. I have been tracking them for some time, and the dates appear to change almost weekly, and not in a good way. Follow the links below and then scroll down near the middle of each page to see tentative release dates.

If you want something to read
Cisco Firewalls (Networking Technology: Security) Alexander Moraes has just been released.
According to the marketing
Alexandre has worked with Cisco security technologies since the year 2000 and is a well recognized expert in the LATAM security community. He is a frequent speaker at Cisco Networkers and other security conferences and has helped in training partners and customers in Brazil. In this book, he proposes a totally different approach to the important subject of firewalls: Instead of just presenting configuration models, he uses a set of carefully crafted examples to illustrate the theory in action. From the configuration fundamentals to advanced topics such as voice inspection, multicast, IPv6 and identity-based firewalls, the book unveils important details about the operations of Cisco firewall solutions, enabling the reader to better use this knowledge on security design. A must-read !
Hi Conwyn, I was wondering if Dave Hucaby's firewall hand book and Richard Deal's Configuring ASA are suffice for FIREWALL exam...? Perhaps I should try and give you guys an answer haha...:D
The book below is quite good especially as its on the Ciscopress 9.99 USD list. I suppose the two issues are NAT changes in 8.3
see (https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-9129) and there will be the marketing questions. Remember Cisco exams are designed to measure you ability to understand what is in the exam rather than do a real job. So hopefully Keith and his little friends will be publishing soon.
