I have been using GNS3 but i didn`t really know it was possible to simulate a switch using it.
How should i proceed to have it done???
I've heard that some do get by with just Packet Tracer, but you will have to understand its limitations. Certain functions do not work, and some commands are not available. I would reccommend renting some rack time or picking up a couple 3550s and 2950s if you can afford it.
it is possible to use switching module in a GNS3 router but is limited for CCNP studies.
see how to http://www.gns3.net/phpBB/
blindhog.net has some videos http://www.blindhog.net/gns3-how-to-build-a-switching-lab/
Thanks for all the help!
Since i'm almost using GNS3 i'll just accomodate to it for my lab while having more opportunities to practise it in real environment.
I alredy have IOS for 3600 router series so i'll just attempt to configure slot NM-16ESW slot and see how it works !.
