How does one go about designing for future needs or what I like to call future proofing the network when you don't know what the future holds?  Here is an example.

You are designing the access layer for a building and need to decide how many drops to place.  If you do too many, then you have extra drops, if you do too few drops then you need to add more or add a switch at the drop.

In the too few scenerio, which would be the better way to go?  Add a drop or add a switch? and why?
