    show ip route

    Lena

I have a network with several routers: branch routers, headquarter router, ISP router.

Looking at the output of command "sh ip route" how can I determine on which router this command was typed?

      Thank you.

          Hi Lena

We have had this question before. The simple answer is you can not.

              Agreed Conwyn,

These are some interesting questions.  I wonder what the source is or if some of them have type-o's.  This one in particular is very interesting because I was thinking "all of the above" because of the loopback interface you mentioned.

These questions are from my ICND1 exam that i failed a week ago with xxx points. I was double minded on some mutliple answer questions.

Are you sure you aren't remembering the question wrong?

I took the ICDN1 exam a couple of weeks ago (instructor thing) and I don't recall seeing any question worded in that  fashion anyplace...  Because I would have definitely looked at it strangely (as stated) and made a comment about it.

While it's possible it wasn't in the pool that I had, it seems like something is missing.  My opinion.

That is possible Scott.  I was also wondering if it was a practice question.  We all know that they are not perfect.  But, legit question or not, the answer was given with Conwyn's link.  I still thought it was a good learning oppertunity.

              Scott,

There is an possibility i'm missing some other details also.

But in general, how to answer this type of question?

              Regards,

                Hello Conwyn,

I am interested in this question because I had something like this on ICND1 exam and can not find the answer for it.

I started this discussion to learn how to find out the difference between routers looking on "sh ip route" command output.

                Thank you.
