    Etherchannel and allowed vlans list

    Joseph

      Hi Everyone,

I'm focused on properly learning and configuring etherchannel and my question is concerning and etherchannel forming with different ALLOWED VLAN lists created on each switchport trunk interface connecting to either side of the etherchannel.

Is it necessary to still include all VLANs within the  allowed vlan list even if one switch does not have any of the vlans to be included in the list?

      Example:

SwitchA has VLANS 2-5 created on it and I hard code switchport trunk allowed vlan 1 - 5

SwitchB has VLANS 3-5 created on it and I hard code switchport trunk allowed vlan  3-5

If vlan 2 is not created on SwitchB , do I still need to included this in my allowed list inorder for the etherchannel to properly form. Thanks, Joe
