Hi, I want to share with you an exercise you can use to review some concepts towards the practical. It has NOT a strict exam format, in the sense that does not follow the use case + design lifecycle axis format, but I thought some of you may find it useful anyway, so... don't hesitate to open discussion in any possible way.
You’re a consultant working for customers in the SP and Enterprise. EntA has just acquired EntB, so they are looking for a fast integration of they networks to integrate business logic and applications at a later phase. They just found an interesting offer from a local SP that aims to integrate those two locations fast, with the possibility to include more locations at a later time.
The SP_BB provides interconnection without traversing public infrastructure to multiple clients based on their MPLS L3 VPN services, as well as redundant paths in their core network.
You’re asked to select the appropriate protocols and PIN where those protocols should be in place to successfully interconnect those two locations (multiple selection):

The BB service provider is starting in the business and have some very good trained people, but there is not enough to cope with the grow of the last few months. You’ve been asked to give them some advice. They’ve sent you a little diagram with the devices and main POPs in Rome and Dubai. All the links have been installed in the last years and have plenty of resources to provide services to hundreds of new customers.
Last node they installed, give the main engineer a warning, because the monitoring system detected a high amount of TCP 646 port traffic, so the management team need to investigate and analyse that because that kind of events could perhaps limit the availability in the long term, as well as they plans to provide BW reservation to cope with the most resource demanding customers.
They can’t modify the interconnection between nodes at this time, because the links providers were selected with minimum cost as a basis, and an increase in that is unacceptable by the business.
What configuration option would you recommend to the SP to be able to increase the ROI (choose 1):
- LDP independent control
- LDP ordered control
- LDP downstream unsolicited
- LDP independent control + filtering
What kind of design optimization will you introduce to increase the availability of the BB Provider network (choose 2):
- Topology optimization
- IGP tuning (extensions, metrics)
For the LSP creation, what you think it would be the best strategy (choose 1):
- 1 big LSP
- A high number of smaller LSPs
- 2 LSPs one active and another standby
Would you recommend any security precaution to the SP customers to increase the MTBF (select 1):
- Implement IPSec
- Set the next-hop self in the RRs at both sides
- Use MACSec
- Filters to limit incoming / outgoing routes
- Keep the next-hop unchanged for incoming routes
