I'm studying for my Security exam and I'm being introduced to Cisco Configuration Professional and Adaptive Security Device Manager. Which one of these tools is relevant and what's the difference?
Good day Kelvin,
for the exam, both are required.
CCP works on routers and switches. ASDM works with ASA firewalls.
Thanks for the clarification Talal.
Talal is correct
CDP is being deprecated as well as ASDM
in the new asa55x-x models, the move goes away from CLI and ADM to FTD and FDM
luckily this is NOT on the exam yet
But could well be in the next iteration if Cisco is trying to push it in that direction.
The thing is FTD is still not mature enough to fully replace the current ASA image for all scenarios.
