Check if the link between the switches is TRUNK
Check the configuration of VTP version (Put in all switches the version 2)
PT is some limited, try put the same domain name VTP in all switches (Also in the switch in transparent mode)
Create a new vlan in the Switch in server mode and check in another switches if they learn the new vlan
Attach your PT file
All the trunk links are working
vtp version is version 2
all switches are in same domain including transparent.
and as you said i have created new vlan on server switch it has been shared on all client switches...vlans data is correctly advertised ...
vlans data is shared in all client switches but the trouble is pc 192.168.10.1 cannot ping the 192.168.10.2 & 192.168.10.3.
message is request time out..
similarly pc 192.168.20.1 cannot ping the 192.168.20.2 & 192.168.20.3 pcs
message is request timeout.
pc 192.168.10.1 & 192.168.20.1 are on the same client switch..
Are PCs assign to correct VLan X, Y, z ? Are switchport in access mode and access vlan 10 for PCx and vlan 2 for PCsy? are trunks between switches ok?
ping between PCs in different vlans will not work without routing. does your L3 switch settup for routing? (not needed if u just ping within same vlans)
if true, SAVE and reboot switches, if that does not work, replace cables and use Cross-over between switches.
VTP may not work as should in PT; for sure VTP pruning does not work (at least in previous versions).
port status down on access switches are not configure completely, see show interface fa0/17 switchport
what else do u need there? u can look up access port config in book or other pt file.
vlans are missing - in order to pass traffic in vlan x switch must have such vlan in database and vlan must be allowed to pass over trunk port .
not sure if that is PT fault or not, check trunks - forget about vtp for now, get pings to work then play with vtp later.
see show interface trunk - see ports, allowed vlans,
ping from vlan x to pc on other end in same vlan x - no need for routing.
ping between vlans - need routing on L3 SVIs or router on- stick
I think u misunderstood transparent mode or changed mode to transparent too soon; transparent switch still needs vlans that will pass over to other switches.
Finaly VTP Transparent Mode just say that the Vlan will not be publish over the hole Network like Server Client.
You have to configure the manualy on erver Switch.
If you would like to have Traffic between von X on Switch A you have to configure on Switch B the same Vlan !
Communication between the Vlans with the same ID or or others ID are done by the you default Gateway of the Managment Vlan.
Why it sometime not works (when you Setup them) different Version of VTP Version 3 to 1 is not Supported, Different VTP Names,
Password on VTP Domain. The must be all the same !
Otherwise you have no Layer 2 Cominication.
