VIRL 10.255.0.0 network not found (and can't route to it)

    MichaelS.

Yes, I've watched both the Cisco and a popular GNS3 / VIRL expert's videos and have VIRL installed correctly (everything is green in UWM, the license is less than a month old, etc.) on a new laptop with VMWare Workstation 15.   The only consideration I can mention is that VIRL did not capture my email address, but still shows all green for all check boxes.

I am receiving this message : " Unable to connect to remote host: No route to host".

I recognize that the 10.255.0.0 network is not in the VM Ubuntu server.  When I issue the command :

      virl@virl:~$ route add -net 10.255.0.0 netmask 255.255.0.0 dev br1

      SIOCADDRT: Operation not permitted

What work around can I use for this?

      Thanks!
