      Hi All,

I have passed CCNA Routing & Switching (200-120) and passed my CCNP (300-101, 300-115 & 300-135). Now I'm  thinking of doing CCNP SP exams.

Can somebody please advise if I do qualify for CCNP SP exams or not? I do not understand why do we have to sit for CCNA SP exams if we already have CCNP certifications?

Any advise would be appreciated, so that I can prepare for exams accordingly.

          Hi Neel,

Per the CCNP Service Provider requirements, the certification can be achieved by having a valid pre-requisite (CCNA Service Provider) and passing the required exams: SPROUTE, SPADVROUTE, SPCORE and SPEDGE. Please note that these requirements do not have to be completed in any specific order.

So yes, you can definitely take any CCNP Service Provider exam(s) without a valid pre-requisite. However, the actual CCNP Service Provider certification can only be awarded by fulfilling all of the necessary requirements - Valid pre-requisite + valid required exams.

          Good luck to you!

Understood! I shall start with CCNA SP now. Thank you very much.
