ACI hardware proxy... after a spine look-up?

Hello CLN--I was doing some follow-up research on ACI hardware proxy, and I was wondering this:

If a leaf sends traffic to a spine for a hardware proxy look-up, and the spine successfully finds an entry and forwards the packet, is there some mechanism by which the spine communicates the entry information to the original leaf?  Or, does it not really matter since one of the spines will always be the next hop for the traffic, and all spines carry the mapping database?

What about populating the mapping database?  If a brand new VM comes online and GARPs its identity credentials (MAC and IP), the VM's leaf will learn it.  But is there some mechanism by which the leaf lets the mapping database know of the new information?

      Thanks in advance!  MM
