Proper way to shut down VIRL VM

    Tom Lijnse

I am running VIRL in VMware Fusion on my macbook and I am wondering what is the recommended way to turn off the VIRL VM when I am not using it?

The simplest way is of course to suspend the VM, but this means that it will come back with a huge clock difference when I turn it on again after days or weeks of not using it.

How will NTP deal with this and how will it affect the salt status?

Or is it better to do a proper shutdown of the VM, and if yes, what is the best way to go about that?

Should I just issue a shutdown command in the shell? Or is there some button in UWM that I should be using?
