The lab currently uses 4.2 code for the WLCs and WCS, the SW list is located here: https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/docs/DOC-5278
When the CCIE team evaluates changes to the lab (HW or SW) they will notify the community at least a few months in advance before the changes are rolled out (I believe it is 6 months prior to any changes in the lab).
Thanks Stephen. I am actually aware of the abovementioned and was hoping to hear someone from Cisco or who attended the Cisco Live session who may hear something about the "roadmap" in using WLC7. The reason why I asked is because I would prefer to be "WLC7-certified" than "WLC4-certified" since being a newer version, it is more relevant. Hope this clarifies. Thanks again.
No problem - I was one of the presenters for the CCIE WLAN exam at Live and I'm on the CCIE WLAN advisory group that meets on a quarterly basis to discuss lab changes so nothing will be changed before next calendar year. Whether we change the SW version or not may not impact the questions, we try to design the exam so that you are not certified for a specific SW version but more on the WLAN concepts.
