Uli Krannich finished his Master of Science degree in computer science with a specialization in Telecommunications in Summer 2009.

Even with an advanced degree, Uli knew that achieving a well-known and industry-recognized certification would further prove and extend his skills, helping him stand out and find a rewarding career in a crowded field of job applicants. Through a German government workforce training program, Uli was able to obtain vouchers for authorized Cisco CCNA and CCNP training from ExperTeach, a Cisco Learning Solutions Partner.

Uli attended an ExperTeach training center and was certified as a CCNA in Autumn 2009. With Cisco Certified skills, he was able to differentiate himself in the job market. "Overall I liked the training very much,” Uli says. “The CCNA simplified my application for a job."

While in the process of applying for various positions, he decided to pursue his CCNP. He’s already completed four courses and passed the BCMSN and ISCW exams. Uli states that while the coursework was critical to his success, it was actually getting his hands on the equipment in a real-world environment that greatly expanded his understanding of how networks operate and how they can be optimized.

Since April 1, 2010, Uli has been employed as a Technology Associate at Computacenter, a Cisco Gold Partner, and is now working toward his goal of obtaining a CCVP. He credits Cisco Certification with helping him secure his position, and feels that the training is highly relevant to his job tasks. He says, “My daily business is all about Cisco!”
