What is a Blog?

A blog functions a lot like an online journal, where the blogger or bloggers can post news and information relevant to their readers. A blog may include links to industry articles, opinions on Cisco certifications and technologies, or news for Cisco Learning Network community members.

How do I receive notifications when a Blog has been updated?

You can stay updated with Blog updates via email or an RSS reader. Under the Actions menu to the right of the Blog, click Receive email notifications. You'll get an email every time someone adds a comment to that blog post.

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a way for you to keep track of changes or additions to content you care about. By subscribing to the RSS feed for content, you're asking to have easy access to information about content changes or additions.

To view RSS feeds you use an RSS reader (also known as an "aggregator"). This could be your web browser (recent versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari support this).Google and Yahoo! have long provided a user-friendly way to read and filter RSS content via the Web. This page has a list of recommended RSS readers like Bloglines and FeedReader for download.

Why adopt an RSS aggregator? It makes getting the content that is most relevant to you quickly. This makes it easy to keep up on the latest info and trends and filter out the things that aren't important to you.

Choose whether to follow the RSS feed for Most Recent New Posts, or Most Recent Blog Comments. Plug the URL into your RSS reader and you're ready to go!
