Cadet Alain just became a 2013 dual Cisco Designated VIP on both the Cisco Support Community and the Cisco Learning Network. Congratulations!

What education and training (including certification) led you to where you are now?

I graduated in biochemistry and clinical chemistry. My certs are: CCNA RS, CCNA Security, CCNA Voice, CCNP RS. I passed the CCIE written in RS and I'm preparing for the lab.

What's your job title now and what's really cool about your job?

I'm a lab technician doing organic analytical chemistry and I want to move into the IT field since 2007.

Why did you decide to go into IT as a career and how long have you been working in IT?

This is a passion and especially networking and Cisco and unfortunately I'm not working in IT yet.

What professional achievement(s) are you most proud of and what would you like to learn or do next in your career?

I'd like to succeed in the CCIE RS lab and then do the Security track in professional and expert.

What have you found most useful on the Cisco Learning Network?

Finding so many great people with so much knowledge and experience in all networking topics whatsoever.

What advice would you give to someone considering a similar career / certification direction?

Once you've started learning networking this is slowly becoming addictive and there's always new things to learn everyday so you can't get bored and as technologies are emerging so fast, there is always a challenge to take up.

What is your all time favorite movie, book or song?

Movie: Taxi Driver with Robert de Niro

Book: Tom Sawyer from Mark Twain

Song: Love Me Do from The Beatles
