    Q:  What is the CCIE Data Center certification?


    A:  The CCIE Data Center certification is a two year expert-level certification  that validates a candidate’s expert knowledge of implementing and troubleshooting complex data center networks. The program offers candidates the knowledge and skills required to design, implement, operate, monitor and troubleshoot complex data center networks. Products tested in this certification include Cisco Catalyst 3750, MDS 9222i, Nexus 7009, 5548, 2232, 1000v and UCS and Cisco Application Control Engine Appliance.

     

    Q:  Who is the audience for the CCIE Data Center certification?


    A:  CCIE Data Center certification is for data center professionals  who are required to design, implement, operate, monitor and troubleshoot complex data center networks. Job roles with experience relevant to this certification include Data Center implementation engineers, design engineers, and pre-sales engineers.

     

    Q:  Are there any prerequisites for CCIE Data Center certification?


    A:   There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE Data Center certification. However, candidates are expected to have an in-depth understanding of the content in the exam topics and strongly encouraged to have 3-5 years of job experience before attempting certification.

     

    Q:  When will the written and lab exams be available?


    A:   The written lab exam will be available starting September 2012. The lab exam is scheduled to be available December 2012.

     

    Q:  How do I register for the written exam?


    A:   To register for the written exam, candidates can visit Pearson VUE, primary test delivery partner for Cisco.

     

    Q:  Where are the lab exams located and how do I register for the lab exam?


    A:   The lab exam is scheduled for release in December 2012. Lab locations will be announced in April 2012

    Question:  How would I recertify my CCIE Data Center certification?


    A:   CCIE Data Center certification is valid for two years and must be recertified before the certification expiration date or your CCIE Data Center certification will be suspended. To recertify, candidates must pass one of the following:

    • Pass any current CCIE Written Exam OR CCIE Lab Exam or
    • Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
    • Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications.

    Q:  Will a beta version of the written exam be made available?


    A:   The beta version of the CCIE Data Center Written Exam v3.0 (351-080) will be available for scheduling and testing at all worldwide Cisco-authorized Pearson VUE testing centers beginning May 1 through June 15, 2012. The beta test will also be offered during Cisco Live San Diego event from June 10-14, 2012.
