FAQ about the IPv6 Education Certification Logo Program

    Q1. I want to learn more about the IPv6 program and available training. Where do I go for more information?

     

    A. You can complete the course “IPv6 Fundamentals, Design, and Deployment (IP6FD)” that is offered by Cisco Learning Partners, the authorized source for Cisco IT training, and that is delivered exclusively by Certified Cisco Instructors. This course has been Gold certified by IPv6 Forum.

     

    IPv6 Fundamentals, Design, and Deployment (IP6FD) v3.0 is an instructor-led course that is presented by Cisco Learning Partners to end-user customers. This five-day course provides network engineers and technicians who are working in the enterprise sector with the knowledge and skills that are needed to study and configure the IP version 6 (IPv6) features of Cisco IOS Software. The course also encompasses the following:  provides an overview of IPv6 technologies; covers IPv6 design and implementation; describes IPv6 operations, addressing, routing, services, and transition; and describes deployment of IPv6 in enterprise networks as well as in service provider networks. Further, the course includes case studies that are useful for deployment scenarios and remote labs.

    After successfully completing the course, you may be able to include on your resume that you have attended the IPv6 Forum Gold Certified course.

     

    Q2. How can I be IPv6 certified and be eligible for the use of the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer logo?

     

    A. There are several ways that you can become IPv6 certified and become eligible for the use of the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer logo. Some of them are listed as follows:

     

    1. CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate—Routing and Switching) Certification:  This certification has been certified by the IPv6 Forum. After achieving this certification, you will be able to apply to the IPv6 Forum to obtain the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer (Silver) logo.

     

    To apply for the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer (Silver) logo, visit the IPv6 Forum Logo Program page and follow the procedure under Question 3 below.

     

    2. CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional—Routing and Switching) Certification:  This certification has been certified by the IPv6 Forum. After achieving this certification, you will be able to apply to the IPv6 Forum to obtain the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer (Silver) logo.

     

    To apply for the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer (Silver) logo, visit the IPv6 Forum Logo Program page and follow the procedure under Question 3 below.

     

    3. CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert—Routing and Switching) Certification:  This certification has been certified by the IPv6 Forum. After achieving this certification, you will be able to apply to the IPv6 Forum to obtain the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer (Gold) logo.

     

    To apply for the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer (Gold) logo, visit the IPv6 Forum Logo Program page and follow the procedure under Question 3 below.

    Q3. How do I apply for and obtain the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer logo?

    A. The process for obtaining the IPv6 Education Logo is as follows:

    Download the IPv6 Education validation specifications from the IPv6 Education Logo website.

     

    Under the left navigation bar, choose Download Specifications to download the IPv6 Forum Education Logo Program v6 5.doc. Review the document for information on prerequisites, eligibility and how to qualify for the use of the logo, as well as detailed instructions on qualifying for and downloading the logo.

     

    To apply for the logo, choose Apply for the logo under the left navigation bar and follow the instructions. Fill out the application form online and complete the IPv6 Education Logo Usage Agreement. Click the "apply" button to show your intention of agreement.

     

    Q4. If I have already achieved CCNA and/or CCNP and/or CCIE Routing and Switching, do I qualify for the use of the IPv6 Forum Certified Engineer logo?

    A. Yes. However, you have to apply to the IPv6 Forum directly to obtain the logo and follow the procedure under Question 3 above.
