Please review the Lab Exam Overview for general information about the CCIE Security lab exam. Knowledge of troubleshooting is an important skill and candidates are expected to diagnose and solve issues as part of the CCIE lab exam. The topics listed are guidelines and other relevant or related topics may also appear. In general, new product features become eligible for testing on CCIE lab exams six months after general release.
To further assist candidates preparing for CCIE certification, Cisco has provided a detailed preparation checklist, containing an expanded list of the skills and tasks expected at the expert level. Candidates can use the checklists to guide the hands-on practice necessary for success on the CCIE lab exam.
The lab exam requires a depth of understanding difficult to obtain without hands-on experience. Early in your preparation, you should arrange access to the equipment and the Cisco IOS Software versions indicated.
No formal training requirement exists for CCIE certification. The list below contains Security related training courses that may enhance your personal knowledge of the topics on the written and lab exam blueprints.
